Saluting the spirit of traditional business-academia knowledge exchange, TransferSummit provides a forum to address issues of common interest.

Featuring world-class invited speakers, the conference will be of interest to businesses, academics, managers, and researchers seeking to acquire new knowledge and expertise. First-hand, relevant experience in bringing innovations to market, community development, funding research, and championing technologies/tips/tools/techniques are just some of the strategic areas TransferSummit participants will be able to enhance efficacy and market leadership.

TransferSummit connects top researchers and academics with business leaders and organisations to participate in a dialogue on cutting-edge Open Source technologies, community-led methodologies, best practices, and open development processes.

TransferSummit focuses on the comprehensive impact of open innovation across a range of disciplines and applications. Participants share, discuss, and discover strategic opportunities that accelerate growth through knowledge transfer partnerships, innovation promotion, community outreach, academic-business interaction, spin-outs and startups, applied research, intellectual property licensing, incubators and collaborative think-tanks, and more.

More than 90% of all organisations use Open Source software today in an effort to improve productivity and substantially reduce costs. Understanding Open Source development, contribution, and communities is paramount to creating an enterprise-grade Open Source policy and its successful adoption.

TransferSummit helps organisations acquire new knowledge, identify an array of innovative solutions that help grow business, and collaborate with academic and research institutions to create new ways to bolster long-term research into future technologies.

Companies that partner with the right institution maximise investment value whilst minimising risk. Meeting core strategic needs through successful collaboration improves product quality, streamlines operations, increases market reach, drives sales, and enhances community relations.

Virtually all organisations use Open Source software even if they are not aware of it. This presents research and academic institutions unique opportunities to make a positive impact on the industry by developing quality software.

Universities, colleges, and research organisations that participate in commercial and knowledge transfer partnerships benefit from market exposure, applied business relevance, and professional development opportunities. Those organisations having positive experiences with the research/academic community often reinvest in the community by establishing long-term research programs, funding real product development, and building a critical mass of expertise.

TransferSummit offers academic/research institutions the opportunity to connect with those organisations seeking to learn more about emerging innovations and applying them to commercial applications.

Students benefit too, through sponsored scholarships, professional placements, program support, and corporate and public service internships.
