This talk will examine the most common strategies for sustaining and/or monetising Free and Open Source code, drawing on examples from academia and business. It will also draw links between these strategies and the licensing and community models that support them.

Mark was the founder of the Open Source Consortium (OSC) in the UK. The OSC comprises over 80 of the country's leading Open Source businesses. The OSC's purpose is to bring Open Source technologies to the UK Government and Public Sector. A direct participant in some of the leading Enterprise Open Source projects, Mark is also a well known and authoritative writer and speaker on all aspects of the Open Source phenomenon.
